How to fix the VAIO SZ spacebar

On a Sony Vaio Vgn fs series, why can only three keyboard keys be held at any one time?
If any more than three are pressed, the first pressed one stops working. Is there any way to alter this so that i can press more than three keys at once?
It's not really the hardware. It's the software. (i.e. your keyboard driver)
