Considering buying an Apple Ibook laptop?
So heres the deal. I really want a mac. I DESPISEEE PCs. Macs are just funner. and cooler. and niceer looking. and i like the programs on it. [no way i can afford the 1000 dollar macbook] so im thinking of just buying this. but will it be worth it? i will mostly be using it to upload music, use photoshop elemets, upload/edit pictures, go online. and thats pretty much it. what are your thoughts. is buying it worth it? or should i just not buy it and save my money?
That laptop is not super bad. But you will be better off maxing out the RAM, 512 is really not enough for you to use it efficiently. The hard drive is small too and you may need to replace it with a larger one. Make sure the laptop can actually use the really big drives, some of the older ones had issues with drives larger than 127 gigs.
Many new programs are Intel only and some will only work with Snow Leopard. Snow Leopard is Intel only too.
If it were me, I would save up for an intel based MacBook. It will be more useful for a longer time than this iBook.
